The situation of Covid-19 epidemic in Vietnam with the 17th patient newly discovered has greatly affected the activities of the tourism industry in general and Oriental Sails Cruises in particular. On the same flight VN0054 with the 17th patient from London to Hanoi on 2 Mar, there were more than 200 passengers, of which 52 passengers traveled to Ha Long afterward. As soon as receiving information about the 17th patient, the authorities of Hai Phong (Lan Ha Bay) and Quang Ninh (Ha Long bay) have drastically directed to prevent epidemics.
Lan Ha Bay temporarily stops all tourist activities from 7 Mar until being re-granted. Therefore, like all other cruises operating in Lan Ha Bay, our 2 Calypso Cruises will temporarily stop serving tourists under the direction of Hai Phong city. (Expected in 7-14 days)
With Ha Long Bay, it was requested to review the list of 18 cruises and 02 hotels that served 52 passengers on the same flight with the 17th patient. Starlight Cruise served 7 of these guests on 4 Mar. Currently, these 7 guests have flown into Ho Chi Minh City and have test results: NEGATIVE with covid19. However, to ensure a safe time of 14 days, the Starlight Cruise will continue temporarily stop, spray disinfectants, health checks and isolate the crew members until March 16, 2020, and wait for the next direction from the Health Department of Quang Ninh Province.
So Oriental Sails Company would like to send this notice to all our partners. Partners and passengers who have bookings on Starlight Cruise or Calypso Cruises departing from now to 16 March, please find replacement cruises. Oriental Sails is ready to join hands when needed.
And please note that our 3 other Oriental Sails boats under the management of Oriental Sails JSC are still available for new booking requests and continue serving tourists safely. Please contact our sales & Reservation Department to have the best promotion rates.
We will keep you informed when the update is available.
